We are inviting you to build your best immersive experience in our latest Google Photorealistic 3D Maps Challenge on Devpost. Take your web development to the next level and compete for a chance to win prizes totalling $26,000.
The Photorealistic 3D Maps Challenge submission period will run from October 1 - November 20, 2024 and winners will be announced on December 13, 2024.
The Challenge
We want you to push Photorealistic 3D Maps in the Maps JavaScript API to its limit and build a unique immersive experience using a real-world canvas, powered by Google’s rendering technology. Your task is to build your experience in one of the following categories using Photorealistic 3D Maps in Maps JavaScript API and any other tools or APIs:

Location discovery: Reimagine how we discover and interact with the world around us. Use 3D Maps to think beyond traditional wayfinding and create innovative solutions that help people discover hidden gems, find the perfect spot for their needs, and navigate complex environments with ease.

Immersive marketing: Leverage 3D Maps to create captivating marketing experiences that engage users. Utilize the power of photorealistic canvas and 3D assets to showcase campaigns that seamlessly blend advertising with the real world or create an interactive storytelling experience.

Built environment & sustainability: Use photorealistic 3D to visualize the built environment and design solutions that promote sustainability. Your experience can tackle challenges related to urban planning, energy, transportation, and environmental impact.
Prizes
You will have a chance to win one of 8 available prizes totaling $26,000 (ranging from $1,000 USD to $7,000 USD), an opportunity to meet with a Google employee, and a chance to be featured on our blog.

Start by going to Devpost to read the project requirements, the rules, and review the resources available to you. If you are up to the challenge, register and start brainstorming new ideas. Be sure to follow all the posted guidelines.
