On May 20, we launched the first-ever Google Maps Platform Awards to celebrate 20 years of mapping innovation and highlight the creative, impactful experiences developers have built with our products. The response from the community has been incredible, with over 400+ submissions from around the world showcasing just how far developers can push what’s possible with maps and data. We’re grateful to everyone who participated, including the incredible number of participants, and the judges and fans who helped determine this year’s winners.

Innobrix: The 3D AEC configuration platform
Innobrix is a web-based 3D configuration platform designed for the architecture, engineering, and construction industry. It allows property developers, architects, municipalities, and homebuyers to view and customize housing developments on an interactive plot map. Using Google 3D Map Tiles and the Geocoding API, Innobrix places designs in real-world context, showing the exact parcel location, nearby infrastructure, orientation, and landmarks. Users can select a plot, configure housing layouts and styles, and visualize the results in detailed 3D or even in virtual reality. By combining BIM data with Google Maps, Innobrix makes it easier for stakeholders to understand how new buildings will fit into their actual surroundings and to collaborate more effectively on design decisions.
